ONIBABA AND KURONEKO

ONIBABA AND KURONEKO

This Sunday we pay homage to the Japanese master KANETO SHINDO. His marriage of theatre and film is steeped in Buddhist symbolism with which Shindo uses to intertwine modern parables with Japans historic past. So if you're a fan of Japanese film get down to JOSHUA BROOKS this Sunday from 7PM

SICK AND DOG DAYS

SICK AND DOG DAYS

This weeks film screenings looks at existence with the first screening of SICK the story of Bob Flanagan a performance artist, poet and stand-up comic and life long sufferer of cystic fibrosis, using S&M to manage the pain of his condition, he went on to integrate it into his act. Done in a sensitive and often hilarious way this is a unique film about a unique man. Next up is DOG DAY six interwoven stories all set on one hot oppressive day, the film takes an uncompromising look at the limits of our existence. Two very different films dealing with the meaning of existence.
