DEEP THROAT AND BEYOND THE VALLY OF THE DOLLS

FLOORED FEMINIST DOUBLE BILL

This weeks double bills looks at from a floored sense of creative justification. The first film is the famous or infamous DEEP THROAT, it  attempts to look at sexual empowerment through the eyes of a woman disguised as a male porn director. The story revolves around Linda Lovelace's quest for sexual satisfaction and the ultimate climax and lengths she goes to achieve it. Next up is BEYOND THE VALLY OF THE DOLLS Russ Meyer's psychedelic extravaganza penned by celebrity film critic Roger Ebert cleverly fills the screen with excess weaving five film genres into one film everything from comedy to melodrama. Setting an all female band at the heart of the film it gives the film makers ample opportunity to exploit their main protagonists as the film takes a darker turn, if you are a fan of film or student of film it is quite an education.
